Free comprehensive NHS Eye Test

The NHS funded eye test at our center will cover the full cost of an eye test for anyone who qualifies.
Follow the link below to find out if you qualify for the NHS funded eye test.

You qualify for a free NHS-funded sight test if:

  • you’re aged under 16
  • you’re aged 16, 17 or 18 and are in full-time education
  • you’re aged 60 or over
  • you’re registered as partially sighted (sight impaired) or blind
  • you’ve been diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma
  • you’re 40 or over, and your mother, father, brother, sister, son or daughter has been diagnosed with glaucoma
  • you’ve been advised by an eye doctor that you’re at risk of glaucoma
  • you’re a prisoner on leave from prison
  • you’re eligible for an NHS complex lens voucher (High Prescription)

You’re also entitled to a free NHS sight test if you:

  • receive Income Support
  • receive Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (not Contribution-based)
  • receive Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • receive Income-based Employment and Support Allowance
  • are awarded Universal Credit
  • are entitled to, or named on, a valid NHS tax credit exemption certificate
  • You are named on a valid NHS certificate for full help with health costs (HC2)
  • People named on an NHS certificate for partial help with health costs (HC3)


Free Eye Test at home

Our optician comes to you and use state-of-the-art portable diagnostic equipment to give you an examination that's just as you would expect to receive in a high street optician.

(1) You are entitled to a FREE NHS sight test at home if you are:

  • Unable to leave home unaccompanied or
  • Require a home visit on account of a physical or mental disability

(2a) and you fall into one of the categories for a free NHS sight test as below:

  • Aged 60 or over
  • Under 16, or under 19 and in full-time education
  • Registered blind or partially sighted
  • Diagnosed as having diabetes or glaucoma
  • 40 or over with a direct relative with glaucoma, or you have been advised by an
  • ophthalmologist that you are at risk of glaucoma
  • Prescribed a complex lens (Very High prescription)

(2b) or you (or your partner) are receive the following benefit/ credit:

  • Income Support or Income Based Job Seekers Allowance (not contribution based)
  • Working Tax Credit and are named on a Tax Credit NHS Exemption Certificate
  • Child Tax Credit and are named on a Tax Credit NHS Exemption Certificate
  • You are named on a NHS certificate for full or partial help with health costs (HC2/3)
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
